FAQs

Pick up an application from the fire station per the Town of Lillington policy. You must undergo a criminal background check and drug test, both performed at no cost to the applicant. Training will be provided or scheduled by the department. We accept applicants who do not live in the Lillington area but are willing to pull 48 hours a month on shift at the station.

Paid positions will be advertised on the town website and our Facebook page. We are currently accepting volunteers (See: ‘How to become a volunteer’).

Burning is only permitted for recreation or cooking in the city limits. You cannot burn yard debris or leaves in the city limits. Permits are issued by the Fire Department for land clearing for construction only. Permits can only be obtained at the Fire Department. Town guidelines and North Carolina State Air Quality guidelines must be followed.

We do keep a limited supply for residents of the Town of Lillington or Flatwoods Fire District. We will install it if need be.

We schedule both depending on availability. Please contact us at 910-893-9342 or email John Bethune at jbethune@lillingtonnc.org to talk further.
