Chartered by the State of North Carolina on March 4, 1903, the Town of Lillington was established when the Harnett County Commissioners purchased 100 acres of land near a ferry crossing on the south side of the Cape Fear River.
Lillington is located in central Harnett County along the scenic banks of the Cape Fear River. The town serves as the county seat and has approximately 4,000 residents. Lillington is conveniently centered between the cities of Raleigh and Fayetteville. The town enjoys a proud, small-town heritage with an excellent quality of life.
Campbell University, which offers renowned academics, is located adjacent to Lillington with an enrollment of over 7,100 students.
